I have been a professional photographer for more than 5 years, but have been taking photos much longer.  I studied at The New York Institute of Photography which is the #1 Photography school in the world. Founded in 1910, NYIP is the largest and oldest photography school.  It is accredited by the DEAC and Licensed by NYSED. Gayle and I have also studied at Shaw Academy for Photography and currently members of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).  We find that knowledge makes for great photographs. 

My grandfather was C. W. Yates and owned Yates Photography here in Wilmington from the late 1800's to early 1900's.  Some of his equipment and photos can be seen at the Cape Fear Museum.  I owe my passion for photography to him.
